Take Our Kids to Work Day 2014

Take Our Kids to Work Day 2014 will take place on Wednesday, November 5, 2014.

What is Take Our Kids to WorkTM program?

Take Our Kids to WorkTM is an annual national program in which Grade 9 students are hosted by parents, friends, relatives and volunteers at workplaces across the country every November. The program supports career development by helping students connect school, the world of work, and their own futures.

Grade nine students will be given an information guide mid-October and must return the consent form to homeroom teachers. It is important to note that if a student is going to work with someone other than a family member there is a risk assessment form that must also be completed.

Economics for Success ~ November 13, 2014

Grade nine students will be participating in the Economics for Success program on November 13, 2014. Economics for Success encourages middle and high school students to take a closer look at the advantages of staying in school and at how the choices they make can positively impact their future dreams, aspirations and outcomes.

By outlining the link between education and personal goals and by providing participants with the knowledge, attitudes and skills they will need for long-term career success, Economics for Success helps students explore and manage their job and career choices.

This interactive program is facilitated by one or more business volunteers and is offered by Junior Achievement.
